Top strongest acids ever - Part 2
Top strongest acids ever -PART 2
From this point, acids are called "Super Acids". Since they can't be measured directly, they will be measured on the Hammett Acidity Scale (H0).
Chlorosulphuric Acid:-
It is 8,800,000 times stronger than Hydrochloric Acid. First Superacid on this acid it is a beast(-12.78H0).It reacts violently with Water. It yields Sulphuric Acid and Hydrogen Chlorine in the process. Basically it turns into less powerful acid. In this process it also releases acidic fumes.
Perchloric Acid:-
It is 2.2 times stronger than Chlorosulphuric acid. Perchloric acid is a component in rocket fuel. Outside of that, it is commonly use din industrial purposes, and for a good reason perchloric acid is highly toxic, and when it's in crystal form, it can explode. Inhalation of its fumes can result in brain or lung damage and death (About -13H0).
Trifilic Acid:-
It is 100 times stronger than perchloric acid. Trifilic acid is 1,000 times stronger than pure Sulphuric acid making it one of the strongest acids ever (H0 is -15).This acid is extremely corrosive, contact with skin causes severe burns. On inhalation it causes fatal spasms.
Carborane acids:-
It is 1000 times than Trifilic acid. Another crazy powerful acid. Even though it takes such high place in the list. It differs from other superacids. It doesn't produce further side reactions and it is considered to be a "Gentle Acid". The synthesis of Carborane acids remains lengthy and difficult process(H0 number is -18).
Magic Acid:-
It is 1,00,000 times stronger than Carborane acid. In the 1960s, James B.Conant decided to combine two acids into one. He found that the mixture becomes several more acidic. It can result in serious injury and even deaths(H0 number is -23).
Fluoroantimonic Acid:-
It is 1,00,000 times stronger than magic acid. Fluoroantimonic acid is recognised as the strongest acids in the world. It has -28H0. Sadly there is no footage around. But to understand how ridiculous it is,we have to see the previous Chlorosulphuric acid. However it is 100,000,000,000,000 times less powerful than fluoroantimonic acid. The acid reacts violently (explodes) with water and even reacts violently with moisture in the Air. It can eat through anything except for one material-Teflon. Fluoroantimonic acid is 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 times stronger than uric acid.
