Their sex organs are wither Unicellular and Multicellular and not presented in sterile envelope. Algae - The term derived from the latin word alga: Washed away plants on seashore or seaweeds.It can able to produce many celled sex organs.But there is no sterile sex organ except Chara. The study of algae is called Algology or Phycology. (Phycos-Seaweeds) The term Algae was first introduced by Linnaeus in 1754.
